WELCOME NOTE FROM HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Rainbow Schools’ official website! Our website serves as the central location for the school's streamlined communications, our academic programme, extracurricular activities, announcements, and events on the school calendar. It will also be a virtual portal for our vibrant educational community, and I hope you will find a range of information to meet your needs as part of the Rainbow family.
Our Mission and Educational Approach
At Rainbow Schools, we are committed to BUILDING THE BRIGHTEST FUTURE for our students, with our life-long goal to nurture students to become competitive global citizens. We believe education is about changing the lives of young people for the better through the impartation of knowledge and skills, ensuring that they thrive in and out of the classroom. Our aim is also to provide our students with limitless opportunities by nurturing excellence through self-discipline, collaboration, working smarter, and resilience.
Academic Programmes
We offer classes for learners from pre-school, primary, and high school. At the primary level, we offer Cambridge Checkpoint, while at high school, we pursue the University of Cambridge courses - the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and Advanced Level (AS/A-Level) certifications. These courses are an excellent choice for students desiring an internationally recognized qualification, with A-level courses guaranteeing entry into some of the best universities in the world.
Our Campuses
We have two campuses: the primary school and the high school. The primary school caters to learners aged three to five years in the pre-primary section and from six to twelve years in the primary school section, where students are exposed to a curriculum that develops their Mathematics, English, Science, Setswana literacy skills, along with a variety of social skills. The high school accommodates learners aged twelve to eighteen, offering a holistic curriculum that enhances students' academic, social, and physical potential. The philosophy of our school is "two campuses, one community," as the campuses share the same values, making it easy for students to transition from primary to high school.
Invitation to Prospective Students and Parents
To our prospective students, parents, and guardians, please feel free to log into our website and follow it up with a visit to our campuses where we will take you on a guided tour of our school. We hope, through the tour, you will appreciate what we have to offer and be motivated to choose Rainbow Schools as your education partner.
Our curriculum offer at secondary school lays heavy emphasis on Numeracy and Literacy skills which we believe forms the basis of all present and future learning. Therefore, Literature in English is a compulsory component of our First Language English offer and Additional Mathematics is offered to all numerically gifted learners.
However, an academic acceleration programme exists to allow learners who score 80% and above in all their 8 subjects at the end of year three, to fast tract and complete their IGCSE course in year 4 instead of year 5. Our wide IGCSE curriculum offers learners opportunities to pursue studies in areas that answer to their interests, passions, and natural endowments- allowing us to nurture the excellence within them and thereby unlock infinite opportunities for every one of them! This curriculum is delivered in small class groups using student centered methods that promote collaborative group learning and individual hands-on project and outdoor learning. Both local and international trips form an integral part of this approach to teaching and learning.

Cambridge Subjects
Cambridge Subjects on Offer
Rainbow Schools is an international school offering the University of Cambridge's (CAIE, UK) IGCSE and 'A' level programmes at High School.
'O' Level Subjects (IGCSE of CAIE)
'A' Level Subjects (CAIE- Advanced Level)
'A' Level Admission Requirements
The 'A' Level programme is an advanced programme undertaken after a successful IGCSE course. It is not a bridging course. Only students with 'B' grade or better in all 4 subjects of choice are admitted to this advanced programme which runs for two years. Our A level programme is designed to respond to the high demand for skilled labour in STEM and BUSINESS MANAGEMENT- areas which also attract numerous international scholarships and Botswana government sponsorship. Therefore, in choosing their electives, students are free to follow either a science or business route; with options in ICT, environmental or historical studies providing alternative career pathways. At this level the learning experience is enriched with compulsory community service to build empathy, commitment to service and respect for diversity.
