School History

Rainbow Primary School started in January 1994 with four Block offering Standard 1 to Standard 4 classes with around 90 students.

1998

Due to a growing demand for Secondary Education, the high school was opened in a newly built block of 8 Classrooms which included a Library and Computer room and followed the Botswana Junior Certificate curriculum. The High School started with 75 students and followed the Botswana Junior Certificate curriculum.

2001

In order to accommodate the needs of students the school moved away from the Botswana Junior Certificate and adopted the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGSCE) and wrote these examinations for the first time in 2002.

2010

The Rainbow Hall was officially opened on 16th November 2010 by H.E. Seretse Khama Ian Khama the President of the Republic of Botswana.

2011

The Rainbow High School Library was subsequently opened on 8th September 2011 by Ms Michelle D Davin who was the Ambassador of the United States of America to Botswana.

2016

The Standard 7 students write the PSLE Examinations each year and in 2016 the Cambridge Check Point International Examination were written at the Standard 6 level for the first time.

Continuing modernization in Education

Having recently undergone a change in ownership, the school has embarked on a process of modernization to fully equip its staff and students to meet the challenges of the modern world and to enable them to benefit from the many opportunities that are available in our rapidly evolving economy.
